Elite female athletes earn 1% of what men earn on average.

Its about time that changed.

  • Zero.four champions women rewriting the rules of sport. We represent strength, ambition and identity from the gym floor to the stadium - building legacies, not just careers. We elevate female athletes, amplify their stories and shift the game in their favour.

  • We can’t view women’s sports through the same lens as men’s. Metrics need to be redefined, and social media engagement, social footprint, and grassroots opportunities need to be prioritised over billboards or viewing figures.

The popularity of women’s sport has skyrocketed. Viewing figures, media output, and public interest are increasing year on year. Yet there’s still a huge amount of inequality. There were no women among the 100 highest-paid athletes in the world in the Forbes Magazine's 2024 list, and a global sports salary survey conducted by Sporting Intelligence showed that, among elite athletes, women earn on average only 1% of what men earn.

  • The number 0.4 has always stuck with me. In 2013 I'd just started in the male dominated corporate world, and a report was released that showed 0.4% of global sports sponsorship was spent on women’s sport. Twelve years later, the figure's has barely shifted. While more recent estimates suggest it's crept up to 1-3%, the progress is painfully slow.

That number stayed with me. It became more than just a statistic; it became a reminder of the work still to be done. Zero.four is built on that principle - to be part of the change, to create and champion greater opportunities for women in sport, and to ensure everything we do is driven by that purpose.
